Stella di caffè, the machine so expected by the « Barista »

As we celebrated our 90th anniversary this year, Unic organized a big event under the name of « Unic Café” for the Host show in Milan.
During these 5 days, various coffee recipes were offered to visitors and clients for a genuine gathering for tasting and sharing.
The Unic Café bar was directed by a certified “barista” who came specially for all of us from the USA.
Finally, we revealed the initial concept of the new machine we wish to bring to market named “Stella di Caffè”, which will be as amazing as competitive.

The ZI range, best-seller for the high volume cafés, has a new look, in stainless steel fascia with a blue visual display LED unit adds to the machine’s dynamic look and originality. This blue color suits perfectly with the brilliant stainless steel. Light and freshness refer to the new aspect of the machine as a renewal of our color choices and modernity.

The French decree n°2005-829 of July 20, 2005 set up the regulation for the processing of waste electrical and electronic professional equipment. (WEEE).
Unic, in partnership with the SYNEG association signed an agreement with RECY’STEM-PRO.
This partner deals with the collection and the recycling according to WEEE regulations
All products manufactured by UNIC will be receiving the RECY’STEM PRO mark. This will permit end users to have their materials removed and eliminated by companies concerned with the environment.

The new launched RUMBA Blue Line innovates with whole stainless design

Launched during Equip’Hotel show in Paris in November 2008, the new RUMBA Blue line was on display with its contrasting polished stainless steel against the brushed finishes. The control boxes are easy to operate thanks to the new blue light interactive display, and the new filter holders allow for an improved thermo-conductibility and a perfectly gorgeous coffee extraction with a better flow balance.
Available in 1, 2 or 3 brewing groups, the RUMBA line answers the needs of professionals with customized accessories: under machine knock box drawer, various exclusive systems like the Steamair to ease the preparation of cappuccino, latte…, or the DCA patented system for coffee pod use.

UNIC at both shows Equip’Hotel Paris and Middle East

UNIC will be present at both Equip’Hotel Paris and Middle East shows, on November and December 2008 respectively. Within a few weeks from the opening of Equip’Hotel Paris (from 15 to 19 November 2008), UNIC will busy itself with the latest preparations to welcome numerous visitors to its booth D129 – Hall 4, and reveal its latest new products to all the professionals from restaurants, cafes, hotels, and catering companies.
UNIC will exhibit at the very first edition of Equip’Hotel Middle East in partnership with its local distributor in Abu Dhabi from December 14 to 16. Already distributed in several countries over the Middle East, and especially in Dubai, UNIC wants to strengthen its presence in a part of the world where the economy is exceptionally dynamic in the service, tourism and hospitality sectors.

Opening of the subsidiary UNIC JAPAN

UNIC announces the opening of its subsidiary UNIC JAPAN KK in Tokyo in February 2008, and therefore confirms its strategy to reinforce its presence in the Japanese market.
UNIC JAPAN is in charge of the distribution and the after-sales service of the complete UNIC equipment line of professional espresso machines, and the latest versions of the TANGO super-automatics.
In a strongly competitive market, UNIC JAPAN intends to gain a favourable position among the major players of the industry, by offering a performing maintenance service supported by an ongoing training of the technical teams. The subsidiary provides also the necessary technical support for its existing machine base in Japan, with more than 2000 references including well-known chain accounts throughout the country.
Just one year after the creation of UNIC USA, UNIC goes through an important turning point in strengthening its brand throughout the world market; “the expansion of our international network should allow us to increase our sales on a long term basis, and also to offer a localized technical service to answer customers’ needs with more efficiency and reassure them in their choice for reliable and high quality equipment.”

RoHS compliance for UNIC machines

As constantly focused on the protection of the environment and humanity’s health, UNIC has found new material and new engineering processes in order to warranty the conformity of its products with the RoHS European Directive 2002/95/EC.
The RoHs Directive restricts the use of six substances considered as dangerous in Electrical and Electronic Equipment placed on the European market since 1st July 2006.
Without any compromises regarding the quality and the security of the machines, UNIC has committed itself to complying with all legal rules in terms of environment, including the RoHS conformity of all the machines placed on the market.

UNIC successfully renews its ISO 9001 : 2000 certification

In February 2001, UNIC obtained the ISO 9001 : 2000 certification for its combined activities of design and manufacturing of espresso coffee machines and after-sale service.
Following an audit of the quality management system, Bureau Veritas has confirmed the ISO 9001 version 2000 certification of all the activities of UNIC, for another 3 years.
UNIC’s commitment in the certification process is primarily a whole company project based on the investment of all UNIC staff to better know and satisfy customers’ needs.
“This certificate is a testimony to the confidence granted from our dealers and users, respectively to the professional coffee machines we are manufacturing, and also to the technical knowledge and UNIC’s savoir-faire in this industry.”

The new exclusive system SteamAir ® by UNIC is a solid Teflon steam arm equipped with a temperature probe ; the device is controlled and programmed through a specific display located on the front panel of the machine.
The SteamAir ® automatically froths the milk in 3 simple steps, in order to obtain a smooth and consistently perfect foam :
1- Pour the milk in a pitcher and insert the SteamAir ®
2- Start the heating or foaming by pressing on the SteamAir ® designated touch pad button
3- Wait for the SteamAir ® to turn itself off automatically and prepare the desired beverage
Its assets :
- Easy to use : automatic stop once the programmed temperature is reached, which saves milk from burning
- Full control : programming of the temperature and the quality of the foam (3 levels)
- Easy cleaning : disassembling of the Teflon arm independently from the temperature probe
